BillGutter guide

How BillGutter Works

BillGutter helps you find problems in recurring bills, take the right next step, and confirm the result on a later statement.

The workflow is simple: review the bill, decide what deserves action, take the next step, and check a later statement before recording the result.

Simple rules

Possible results remain estimated until a later statement supports them.

Review the supporting information before taking action.

Provider agreements should say what the next bill should show.

Some changes require approval before anyone acts.

Completed cases become a clear history of what changed and what worked.

BillGutter reads bills in US dollars (USD) only for now. Bills in other currencies show a note instead of amounts.

Workflow

Review

Add a bill, invoice, renewal notice, statement, or EOB and see what changed.

Decide

Focus on the issue most likely to matter and note anything that must stay unchanged.

Act

Use a prepared call script, written request, plan, or checklist, then record the response.

Confirm

Check the next statement before recording the final result.

Plain-English terms

Next step

The clearest action to take first.

Protections

Services, credits, coverage, or contract terms that should not be changed by accident.

Expected result

What the next bill should show if the change worked.

Confirmed result

A result that showed up on a later bill, invoice, statement, or EOB.

Reminder

A prompt to review a renewal, unresolved item, or later statement.

Accepted change

A change was approved or accepted, and the expected result was recorded.

Possible issue

Something may be worth checking, but it is not treated as a fact.
